BGC’s Wheel Clamping Operations begins April 15 to Alleviate Traffic
Bonifacio Global City (BGC) will be strictly implementing the use of wheel clamps on illegally parked vehicles starting April 15, following Barangay Fort Bonifacio Ordinance 14-133. The move is meant to prevent congestion, enhance traffic flow, and to support BGC’s pedestrian priority program.
Under the ordinance, unattended vehicles parked on the street will automatically be clamped until the tow truck arrives. If the driver, however, arrives before his car is about to be clamped, he will only be issued a Unified Official Valuation Receipt (UOVR). Penalty for clamped vehicles is Php 1,000 plus the settlement of the issued UOVR.
Meanwhile, residents and visitors are encouraged to maximize the 5,000+ public parking slots available in and around the city. And now with the help of the new BGC app, downloadable on both Android and iOS devices, motorists can get real-time information on parking availability and navigation.
“More than anything, this is about road safety and traffic alleviation. We ask for everyone’s cooperation as we work closely with the local government of Taguig and adopt policies to improve the quality of life in BGC, for motorists and pedestrians alike,” said Jun Galvez, General Manager of Bonifacio Estate Services Corp.
